The pros:

All in all a pretty good stay and I would stay there again if I went back to algona

Very hard to understand the manager (very heavy middle eastern acccent).

Pretty decent place to stay, the room I was in was fairly large for a single room with a queen bed, a table with lamp, the table had a computer desk style chair and the room had a chase lounge, fridge and microwave. I don't watch TV so I never turned it on but it was a flatscreen. The building is definitely showing it's age and the halls and probably most of the rooms are in need of a coat of paint.

I travel all over the country for work each time that I am in the area I stay at the super 8 the staff was engaging helpful ,very pleasurable just by their willingness to go above and beyond ,if I’m in the area again that’s the place I will stay !

Budget friendly

Quiet stay

I stay here whenever I work near algona, I stay at different hotels all the time depending on where I'm working, and would go out of my way to stay here. This super 8 has smoking rooms available, and you can even bring your pet. Several restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance, and the manager Roger is a very helpful, respectful man. I recommend this place to anyone passing through, or workers like myself repeat staying. As for parking, you can fit a semi/big rig right out front. Thumbs up and safe travels.

Towels are extremely rough like they hung them to dry outside

Decently sized single room

The cons:

Stayed with my husband for the pheasant opener weekend. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and the friendly and welcoming attitude of the manager. I was here a few years ago and they have obviously made some updates, such as flat screen TVs, king size beds, and new bed covers. For the money it is just perfect, and we will definitely stay again. We had the window open all night and didn't hear a sound outside, so the neighborhood is quiet, at least on the east side. BTW the POW museum in Algona is filled to the brim with documentation and artifacts from that fascinating period in Algona history.

The AC smelled like an old fridge (kinda like a moldy smell).

The hotel smelled terrible. The sheets were stained. The hallway carpet looked terrible. Was told I could not get a refund. I will not stay at another Super 8 again.
